Good only for a certain group of people

I was excited for this book. However, I see now it's geared towards a certain group of people over 60 or into the vintage timeperiod (old movies, saying, items). I am too young for this and it doesn't help either that I wasn't raised in the US. Many of the challenges are not really challenges as I've never known the answers to begin with. Unfortunatly, I already wrote in it so I can't return it.

Fun variety of questions to work

I like the variety of questions that make you think. Fun to work without being like a school test. It's easy to work a few put it down then pick up the book later. The spiral bound book makes it easy to lie flat. I've had 2 strokes and holding a book is difficult at times.

Tap your brain

I love this puzzle book. I received it as a gift when I retired. My friend didn't want my brain to atrophy. I've given it to several friends as retirement gifts and when they were rehabbing from surgery. I really enjoy the variety of challange in this one book

Fun and very good to help keep your brain functioning.

I received this book as a gift, I just love it. It is challenging but not to the point of being too hard. So many different games and puzzles. Something for everyone. I liked it so much I bought on for 4 of my sisters.

Special and Unique!

5 plus stars! Excellent and unique books by this author, challenging and so much fun! The best part...they are different than all other puzzle books I've seen. NEW ways to challenge your memory and thought processes! Especially perfect for seniors who enjoy variety, trying new word and memory puzzle types.

Plenty to keep folks busy

In looking for ways to keep my brain engaged without resorting to screens or more specifically "smart" phone screens I came upon this book. I like it so far and I definitely like how big it is. However, couldn't help but notice that the questions and challenges tend to lean heavily towards senior citizens. Now the book isn't specifically marketed towards seniors but I can see how they would be the target audience for this book. I'm 44 soon 45 but with rising early onset dementia it's prudent to look for ways to keep our brains healthy and active.

Great except for one flaw

This is an excellent, fun book of puzzles. It really is amazing how fun these are. If you don't know an answer, it teaches you something. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that there are no page numbers for the answers. To get to the answers, you have to look in the back and navigate to the page number that the answer corresponds to. She learned something because her sequel book (417 More Games, Puzzles....) have the page number of the answers.

Very good workbook

Purchased this for an 80 year old man that I am the caregiver of. I thought it'd be like all the other books I get him where he looks at it for ten minutes and never again. This one is different! He is excited to tell me when I come in each morning what he learned or the tips he was given.

No AI, No Typos, Enough Goodness

Anytime I buy a book now especially on Amazn the first thing I check is the publish date and most early review. With so much stuff written by AI these days it’s the fastest way to weed out that junk. The book was published in 2011 and has reviews from that far back which lets me know it is time tested and human written cause AI as we know it didn’t come out until 2022. I also look to see if it has the Great on Kindle, because although I love Amazon there is too much tepid writing here and this tells me its free of spelling, grammar and other errors that take away from the reading experience. This passed on both fronts so I could move on to reading itI’ve been consuming a good amount of memory improvement lately and to me it was a clearer book to read and follow. Memory improvement can get quite confusing and I use to find my self in deer in headlights asking do I use this technique here, recall with that type of information, should I start with notes first? This book removed all that and made thinking about and improving memory plainless. It’s so clear it can seem common sense but it’s not common sense because no others are presenting memory like this.Too many memory products make big claims like you can remember anything or have limitless memory. That’s just not true and it’s setting people with very bad expectations mainly because they think they should be able to remember anything and when they don’t feel down about themselves. I took Jim Kwik’s course and his entire branding is about becoming “Limitless” but it had nothing that made my memory limitless. Not saying it was bad but nothing close to limitless. There are real limitations to memory and Kam is the only one in this space talking about that and his whole approach is around this exact point. And instead of giving you one technique to remember names and another for numbers that gets confusing, he focuses on principles of how your brain likes to receive and store information and how to combine the different principles in ways your brain works to remember just about anything from names, dates, facts, lectures, directions hence the title of this book. He goes beyond remembering facts and dates to things others aren’t addressing like if you want to be reminded of an appointment or a birthday you can’t technique yourself to have that memory come up on the specific day and time, or if you didn’t use a technique to remember something what then? He shows you how to access reminders, memories you’ve forgotten, experiences and other things other leave outBut to set the record straight Kam isn’t a saint in his marketing either, he says to bringing a new perspective to memory but he is still teaching similar techniques. It’s a new look at them but some fundamentals are still the same so I’m taking a star off for that. I guess puffing your product is part of selling I don’t know. At the end of the day people are going to say what they’re going to say and everyone is entitled to their opinion. What matters is does this cover memory improvement, do the tips work, can you pick it up without a lot of time, is it as good as anything else out there and I’d say yes to it all. If you’re thinking about investing in expensive programs or courses like I did, spend a few bucks on a book first as you might be surprised to learn more with less

300 games, puzzles, & Trivia Challenges

This book is full of great stuff!Only problem FOR ME is that the priint isn't large/bold enough. I'll keep it for when I get my new glasses. Until then, will get another memory book that advertises LARGE PRINT.

Good for an older audience

I got this book because Alzheimer’s runs in my family and my mom has early onset dementia. Being in perimenopause I’ve started noticing some symptoms that give me concern and motivation for keeping my brain sharp. I enjoy the activities but I’m clearly younger than the intended audience. I’m 43 and find that a lot of the answers are things I either only know because I remember my parents talking about them when I was a kid. The questions sometimes ask about celebrities or other famous people or movies from before I was born. Overall I enjoy the book but thought this point should be noted if you were born in the 1960’s or after.

Better than expected 👍

I bought this as a gift for my dad who is getting older and is spending a lot of time sitting doen due to health reasons. So I wanted to find him something that was entertaining and engaging to pass the time and keep him thinking and having fun. It’s hard to tell what’s really in these kinds of books until you get it. I don’t usually write reviews, but I am writing one because this book is really cooler than I expected to be and I highly recommend you get it. 👍

Great book for improving memory.

This book is well written and very informative for how to improve memory. It helps to practice the methods from the book "How to develop a brilliant memory week by week" by Dominic O'Brien easier.

Buen libro bastante util

Helpful

There are several helpful techniques discussed in this book. I listened to the audiobook, which is only 2.5 hours. I appreciate how concise it is. I followed along with the exercises and was surprised how much I could remember. I've had a brain injury, and that's really impacted my memory. I'm hopeful that with practice, I'll be able to regain lost functioning, and maybe even remember better than ever!

great book

Memory should always be exercised, at any age. This book provides fun and entertaining ways for the elderly to do just that. For 90 days, the regimen for the brain will help the elderly to keep their mind sharp and vigorous. I have given this book to my grandparents and he seems to be enjoying it quite. a lot.

Useful memory exercises

I am satisfied with the recommendations from this book. I think it is useful not only for seniors but for everyone who struggles with memory issues or just wants to keep their brain active. It is very convenient that the book is divided into clear sections with daily activities that feel practical and easy to follow.

This seems to help.

So far so good. I'm almost fifty now and I am concerned with memory loss. I find myself forgetting things and not being able to recall things very easily. I got this book hoping it would stave off some of the worse effects of aging. The exercises it gives you are just a few minutes long each, maybe 10 minutes tops. I have been completing them and I find that I am getting better as I go through it. I haven't completed the whole book and I'm doing the exercises two days in a row instead of a new one every day, but it seems to work. If you are concerned with memory loss, I suggest giving this a try.

Highly Recommend!

This workbook is well-organized, encouraging, and simple to use. The daily activities are short but effective, helping to strengthen focus and recall in just a few minutes a day. It’s clear, positive, and great for anyone looking to keep their mind active and confident.

Really well done and useful

This is a carefully researched and well-written book by someone who cares. It's filled with so much useful information that there's almost too much. The author breaks it into daily regimens (90 day's worth), but personally I need to repeat the previous day's instruction at least once. So, I don't follow the plan per se. That said, starting in Part II, the focus shifts from practicing strategies by themselves to integrating them as habits, so it's revisiting the concepts from earlier, which is very helpful. There's so much interesting, specific, and useful stuff in here! Initially I picked up the book because I wanted some quick wins, but I'm learning much more than I expected. Highly recommended.
